"Second time ordering from here, I can officially say I am obsessed with the food. Will continue looking forward to the lunch special hrs since I only work around the area, my go to is in the picture everything is delicious! I called and no one answered then I received a call back from the place which I would’ve never imagined and APPRECIATED THANK YOU."
"I found a new favorite restaurant that feeds my soul. Everything on my plate was delicious. Friendly staff, clean atmosphere. Overall great service 10/10"
"First time trying this place and it was great. From the walk in staff was friendly and welcoming. Laughed with us and made great convo. Food was the icing on the cake, we both had turkey wings with Mac & yams also tried the fried chicken and honey garlic wings. Everything was delish. Definitely a new fav for soul food around our area (we usually go to NY). Thank you guys!"
"First time patron at this establishment. I went on a referral from my daughter who had been there once before and I was not disappointed. All female owned (not that it makes a difference but very cool nonetheless) greeted as I walked in with a smile and a positive friendly attitude. Seems they made great use of the limited space as it is take out only just to give a heads up. I ordered what my daughter had last time she was there (wings with potato salad and and collard greens) and we ate at the nearest park. The food was what you expect from a soul food place. For me and my taste buds it was great. I wish I had gotten the smothered turkey wings (my daughter's order this time) but I will be back to test other things on the menu."
"So I went to Food For The Soul take out Restaurant for the very first time today on the recommendation of my hair stylist. I called my four dinner orders in and the lady on the other line was very polite and professional. She told me the cost and said it would be about 30 minutes. I got to the restaurant and the lady greeted me as soon as I walked in. My order was ready for me, packaged up and piping hot. I got home and my mom and I enjoyed a feast! That food was delicious! We got catfish, whiting, shrimp, fried chicken wings, collard greens, mac and cheese, yams and corn bread. I definitely plan to go back again."
"Ok let me first start by saying after seeing the reviews we drove from NY to see if all the hype was true. Well let me tell y'all Food for the Soul has the right name. The chicken wings didn't make it on the car ride back home...sooo good, flavorful, crispy, and golden brown & delicious . We ordered fish, shrimp, and turkey wings too. Our containers were packed with love by Lena the owner. And the drinks were phenomenal...mango lemonade, blueberry lemonade, and lemonade tea. If you want good, no GREAT soul food, get yourselves down to Food for the Soul exit 33 off 95 North...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! The hype is REAL!"
"I moved to CT almost 2 years ago and honestly it’s been hard trying to find some good soul food out here so I just stopped trying. This restaurant kept coming up on my TikTok so I finally decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. I ordered the shrimp and wings dinner with yams and macaroni & cheese. The yams were nice and sweet, but not too sweet. The Mac & cheese was perfect in my opinion. The shrimp and the chicken were cooked fresh and was nice and hot. And yes they were whole wings!! I will definitely be going back to try other meals."
"If you’re going to decide your verdict based on ANY single review about this business—take it from a food critic such as myself. When I tell you I am the most funny-acting & particular person regarding where I eat from? I am. Hence why my unbridled infatuation with this business has caught me off guard. I mean…absolutely impeccable. This food is prepared with amazing energy, & I can tell by the way my post-feast mood is nothing less than high satisfaction. This is the kind of food that will make you slap your grandma…I am not a fighter, but I’d murk someone about my lunch/ dinner platter AND my lemonade. S/o to the ENTIRE team. You guys are ALL hospitable, & amazing. Thank you for your contributions to society. Oh! & my favorite sauce is HONEY HOTTTT, purrrrr!!! xP"
